Launched: October 2024

Project Overview

SBP Realty previously had only a single static homepage. I led the end-to-end design and build of a fully functional rental website on WordPress, customized with Elementor and integrated with a WordPress CRM for properties and leads.

The Challenge

Minimal Online Presence

SBP Realty’s old site was just a single static homepage, offering no listings, search or lead capture.

Falling Behind Competitors

Competing rental platforms in Sydney offered richer features and better user experiences, putting SBP Realty at a disadvantage.

Lack of Essential Property Information

Renters struggled to quickly access key details (e.g., furnished/unfurnished), leading to frustration and lost leads.

Process

01

Website Structure → Lo-Fi Prototypes

I mapped the complete site via a feature flowchart, then produced lo-fi prototypes in Figma for Home, Listings, Property Details, and contact/conversion pages.

02

Suburb Profiles (UX Research)

I created a feature-matrix for proposed Suburb Profiles (covering purpose, audience, static vs dynamic data). Although not shipped due to WordPress template limits, this work highlights domain-specific UX exploration.

03

User Journey Mapping

I defined renter paths from discovery to inquiry, identifying friction points and content gaps. One key solution was introducing Furnished/Unfurnished tags in the CRM to reduce cognitive load and speed up renter decision-making.

04

Agent Collaboration for Property Details

I worked closely with real estate agents to co-create the Property Details blueprint, ensuring it matched renter inquiry patterns. Some Curated Property Features included:

  • Furnished/Unfurnished Status of the Property
  • Beds, Baths, and Parking details of Property
  • Amenities included in the Property
  • Nearby transport, schools, shops, parks
  • Application/inspection steps & agent contact

05

Build & Integration

The final website was built on WordPress, customized with Elementor, and integrated with a WordPress CRM for property listings, lead capture, and agent notifications. I also implemented SEO-friendly structure and internal linking to improve discoverability.

Key Features

Responsive Listings

Seamless browsing across desktop, tablet, and mobile

Furnished/Unfurnished Tags

01

Collaboration & Stakeholder Value

Partnering directly with real estate agents, particularly Jimmy Wu, gave me valuable insights into what renters truly look for. Their feedback shaped the Property Details hierarchy, making the website practical not just for users, but also for the business.

02

Overcoming Constraints

Working within the limitations of WordPress templates challenged me to think creatively. Even though certain research concepts like Suburb Profiles couldn’t be implemented, the exploration sharpened my ability to ideate, test, and adapt to platform restrictions.

03

Professional Growth

This project strengthened my end-to-end skills in UX research, prototyping, development, and SEO. More importantly, it showed me the value of aligning user needs with business goals, a mindset I now carry into every project.
